Tristan Eaton is an American contemporary artist and designer, widely known for his large-scale murals, collectible toys, and contributions to pop culture. Born in 1978 in Los Angeles, Eaton grew up between Detroit, New York, and London, which exposed him to a mix of graffiti, comic books, skateboarding, and street art that would shape his style.
He first gained recognition in the early 2000s as one of the founding creative forces behind Kidrobot, where he designed some of the most iconic vinyl art toys, including the Dunny and Munny figures. These quickly became staples of the designer-toy movement.
As a painter and muralist, Eaton has created works all over the world—his signature style blends bold colors, collage-like layering, pop iconography, typography, and surreal juxtapositions. Many of his murals, such as those in New York City’s Little Italy and Detroit, weave together historical, political, and cultural themes.
Beyond murals and toys, Eaton’s artwork spans fine art, illustration, and design, with collaborations that include Marvel, Nike, Universal, and the U.S. Postal Service (he designed a stamp in 2013). His work often draws on themes of American identity, nostalgia, and consumer culture, executed with a mix of street-art energy and fine-art technique.
