Robert Standish (born 1964 in Los Angeles) is an acclaimed American painter celebrated for his remarkable artistic evolution. In 2010, he made a successful transition from creating highly collected photorealistic urban scenes to producing abstract works of equal acclaim. His distinctive approach to abstraction—bold, textured, and saturated with color—was coined, “Transcendent Expressionism” by the LA Weekly.Influenced by Abstract Expressionism and Color Field painting, Standish’s work evokes both cosmic and organic forms, offering viewers an emotionally immersive experience and ultimately, a rejuvenating spiritual resonance.
