Joshua Roman

Joshua Roman is a California-based fine artist and illustrator with a style that's impossible to mistake for anyone else's: rainbow lines, intricate swirls, and color that seems to move even when the canvas is still. He calls it Figurative Surrealism, and it's exactly that, familiar forms bent just enough to feel like they're slipping between the real and the imagined.

His portraits hold an unusual tension: playful creatures and dreamlike landscapes sitting alongside something quieter and stranger underneath, work that captures a subject's true likeness while never quite letting you settle into it. His work has appeared in film, television, and gallery exhibitions worldwide.
