Cause for Celebration
Cause for Celebration
Paint doesn't sit still in this one, it fractures, zigzags, and spills across a circular canvas like confetti caught mid-air. Robert Standish builds "Cause for Celebration" from layered pours and jagged bursts of blue, coral, green, and gold, all pushing outward from a white, textured center. Standish traded a career in photorealism for something freer over a decade ago, and the shift shows: intuitive layering built on a foundation in psychology from Antioch University. His work now sits in the permanent collections of LACMA, JPMorgan Chase, Stanford University, and the Crocker Art Museum.
