Come Into the Light
by Thalo Halo
An anglerfish the color of a tennis ball, with magenta fins, a mouth full of yellow needles, an X where one eye should be, and a lure dangling over the whole scene like a porch light. "Come into the light" across the top in blocky blue. "Light" repeated down the side in a yellow-to-orange gradient, since the fish is very committed to the bit. And at the bottom, in the lettering of a 1970s ice cream sign, "I won't bite."
Thalo paints the oldest trick in the ocean as a carnival poster. It's for the pool bar, the dive shop owner, or the office of someone in sales.
